Four years after the First International Conference on Earth System Modelling in September 2003 we are pleased to invite the scientific community involved in Earth system research to meet in Hamburg again.

The conference addresses global and regional modelling for the past, present and future, as well as Earth system observations and reconstructions. The Program Committee invites contributions on any of the following subjects:

These major OCEANS and MARINE Conferences will join forces to bring the world-wide marine community of scientists, engineers, technologists and policy makers together in a frame-work of easy and informed discussion. ANNOUNCEMENT

Some recent studies suggest that tropical cyclones are becoming more
powerful with the most dramatic increase in the North Atlantic. The
increase in the Atlantic is correlated with an increase in ocean
temperature. A debate concerns the nature of these increases with
some studies attributing them to natural climate fluctuations (e.g.,
the Atlantic multi-decadal oscillation), and others suggesting
climate change related to anthropogenic increases in forcing from
greenhouse gases.

 You are invited to attend the Arctic Global Ocean Observing System
(GOOS) Planning Meeting, which will be held on 12-13 September 2006 in
Bergen, Norway.
