QUEST ES4 provides a broad introduction to
Earth system science, through a programme of presentations, discussions
and practical exercises that address the interactions of different
environments and the dynamic processes that link their living and
non-living components.
In addition to its taught programme, QUEST ES4 2006 will explore the cross-cutting theme of Society’s Resilience in a Changing World
through 'taskforce challenges', group projects drawing on the varied
backgrounds of all participants, which will run through the fortnight.
An evening programme of debates and talks by guest speakers will be
open to all interested scientists.
The course is
primarily intended for postgraduate researchers in the earth and
environmental sciences, as well as researchers and research users from
universities, research institutes, government and industry.
